The Level 3 ITEC Diploma in Sports Massage sets out to equip learners with comprehensive practical and theoretical expertise to effectively provide sports massage treatments to a range of clients who have dysfunctional tissue, without acute/post-acute injuries or underlying pathological conditions. Objectives: to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to - assess clients and construct a sports massage treatment plan - understand the principles of soft tissue dysfunction - understand how to determine the appropriate Sports massage techniques – to include selecting a suitable massage medium for the client’s skin type, classical and advanced massage movements and adapting the treatment to the client’s specific needs The learner will also develop knowledge about current legislation and working practice requirements and client care and communication which is essential to work and be successful in the industry. Qualification Structure: Unit 1: Anatomy & Physiology for Sports Massage Unit 2- Principles of Health and Fitness Unit 3 - Understand Principles of Soft Tissue Dysfunction Unit 4 - Professional Practice in Sports Massage Unit 5 - Sports Massage Treatments There are 7 days in total to attend as follows: Day 1 - 29 March Day 2 - 5 April Day 3 - 3 May Day 4 - 24 May Day 5 - 7 June Day 6 - 28th June Day 7 - - Exam Day 14 or 19 July tbc (you must bring your own model) Plus a total of 3 Zoom Sessions as follows: 17 April - 7pm 15 May - 7pm 12 June - 7pm A total of min 25 sports massage treatments to be performed and logged to include pre-event, post-event and maintenance massage plus 10 logged massage treatments. Your A&P course is an online course and can study at your own pace however you must complete this course no later than Day 6. A&P Exam is online and will be scheduled for Day 7 together with your practical exam. You are required to bring your own towels, sanitizer, wipes, etc - the exact details will be confirmed in your booking email. Student insurance required. Please note a further fee of £160 will be required upon registration onto the course that covers your registration with ITEC Exam and Certification. Pre-requisites: none - course is suitable for beginners.
